Don’t DIY Your Hand Sanitizer Supplies

It’s no secret that hand sanitizer was flying off store shelves when news of the Coronavirus hit. As the calendar turned to March, sales of hand sanitizer were up 313%. When stock began to run out across the country, some people opted to make their own homemade sanitizer. However, this isn’t a solid solution.
The World Health Organization states that the alcohol used to make sanitizer needs to be at least 96% ethanol. That’s a much higher percentage than most alcohol on the shelf. Using the wrong ingredients or an improper amount can cause harm to your skin and health.
