People who have contracted COVID-19 are recommended to take an over-the-counter drug to help alleviate pain and reduce fever. However, there has been some conflicting information about whether Tylenol or Ibuprofen is best. The French minister of health, Olivier Veran, advised in March 2020 that anyone who has contracted COVID-19 should be taking Tylenol, not Ibuprofen.

However, other health professionals, including Dr. Jeffrey Klausner, professor of medicine at UCLA, says there is not enough evidence to see any harmful effects on the kidney due to taking Ibuprofen in COVID-19 patients.
