Well, according to the study, once the differences in lifestyles between the study’s participants had been analyzed and taken into account, artificial sweeteners and sugar were held responsible for this marked jump in the mortality rate. Specifically, it was concluded that those who had consumed those two glasses or more of sugary drinks per day were 17 percent more likely to have died than their relatively abstemious counterparts.
