The ants won’t die in your home after eating the borax-laden snack, either. They carry their sweet treats back to the nest, and this will reportedly kill of the colony. You can also try using a touch of honey on a dish as another sweet ant trap – they climb into the nectar but can’t get themselves unstuck.
