When you think about Slash from Guns N’ Roses, you probably don’t instantly think of animals or cuddly pets. Fortunately, Slash is as tough as his rock star persona seems — he’s a pet owner, but not exactly the kind of pet owner you’d ever expect.
Slash is a pet parent to 12 cats and a dog. But he’s also the keeper of a number of snakes. And, in true Guns N’ Roses fashion, Slash doesn’t have just any old snakes. In 2008, it was reported that he had over 80 snakes in his home.
In an interview with Reptiles Magazine, Slash discussed his love of snakes in depth. He also gave a peek into his reptile menagerie. The muscian owns a large reticulated python, a pair of rhinoceros iguanas, a few kingsnakes, a couple of carpet pythons, and an entire room of large pythons. He has a full reptile collection, and even hires a caretaker just for his pets. Slash frequently shows off his snakes and other awesome pets on Instagram, which the best place to glimpse a peek into his life offstage.
