Cookies are one of the most beloved and simple desserts to make and enjoy. Just toss a few ingredients in a bowl and go. One of the best things about cookies is just how versatile they are. Add some flavors or textures, from chocolate chips to peanut butter to marshmallows or even chips.
Cookies can be sweet or salty, or a mix of both. The possibilities are endless and you can always create new flavor combinations.
Here are the ingredients that you need to make these marshmallow cereal cookies:
- 2 sticks butter
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 egg
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 ¼ cups flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar (if you have it— adds great acidity and accent to fruit flavored cereal)
- 1 ½ teaspoons salt
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 ½ cups your favorite cereal
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
Here are the instructions that you need to follow in order to complete this recipe:
First, you need to heat the oven to 350F.
Next, in a medium bowl you need to combine all of the butter and sugar in the bowl and mix until smooth. Then, add the egg and extract to the bowl and mix it all until the consistency is well combined.
Next, add all of the flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda, and mix everything together until it’s all just combined. Finally, you can now add the cereal and marshmallows to the mix and carefully incorporate it until the mixture is fully combined.
Now, you want to scoop the mixture onto the greased baking sheet. Just make sure to keep the scoops about 2 to 3 inches apart. Then, you want to pat down the tops so they will bake more evenly.
Now, you want to bake them for 10 minutes. Once you remove the cookies from the oven, you want to let them cool completely before digging in or storing in an airtight container.
